Ninja Gaiden Black - Segmented Master Ninja Speedrun Thoughts

Let's just get to the whistle tickling details shall we. Mainly just ironing out strategies to see how far this could be pushed in theory. I am not going all out for this; insert "that's for the next guy" sound clip from mine and Al's commentary. I got the urge to really breakdown a proper route for MN and much like Normal I thought a good place to start would be to break up the run into segments and see how much of it can be applied to single segment.  If you're reading this then there is a very good chance you know the current twitch and youtube situation so this is just good old text from here. As of right now I have no plans to stream or make videos for any of this. That said, I do have all the raw footage of this first run, so you never know. Right now though, I cannot be arsed :)  Chapter 1 The kills here need some rethinking, there is a lot of essence available and it's very consistent to get to Murai with at least 10k. This will heavily alter the p...

Cuphead Review

Cuphead is one of those games that makes you want to talk to people who you know will have no idea what it is or even have an interest in games to begin with. I have yet to meet anyone who has a dislike for the early 1900s cartoons appearance that Cuphead so deliberately imitates and that visual style goes a long way in making what is essentially Contra in a lower gear feel like something far more important and enjoyable. There is more to Cuphead than just its truly gorgeous visuals though, there is an extremely well produced game under it all with some of the most meticulous and layered animations you're likely to see in the next decade. The games length did leave me disappointed and I reached the point of figuring out the games tricks much sooner than I would have hoped but that only puts a minor dent in what is otherwise a thoroughly superb game. It's really hard not to talk about the look of Cuphead so I won't even try to save that for later. This game looks absolutely ...

Wonder Woman Review

I feel like the superhero film craze has been in swing long enough that the origins for them all are all so well known that there are barely any origin stories worth telling at this point. Fortunately Wonder Woman is just what I was looking for in a genre that has become more and more predictable and downright boring in so many ways for what seems like a decade now. Like any good origin story Wonder Woman has a much slower pace than the standard comic action film that we have come to know and the film benefits greatly from this. You never end up in a situation and think to yourself; wait, how did we get here? The film is patient yet very exciting and goes places very few, if any in fact, other films in the genre have done in quite a while. I really don't like to draw upon comparisons in film but I feel there is a very obvious one for Wonder Woman and I want to get it out of the way quickly. I enjoyed Man of Steel more than most but my main complaint with Man of Steel was that the ...
